‘Refuge’ is a response to what I perceive to be a large gap between internal and external perspectives on the refugee crisis. I illustrate and comment on these contrasting perspectives through the medium of a book, thereby ‘finding refuge in a book’. 
 

To reflect the reality of the refugee’s situation I chose to use the poem ‘Home’ by Warsan Shire, which makes the point that most refugees are driven by necessity given that leaving one’s home is naturally a last resort.
